Our pens and pencils offer a variety of plantable seed options to choose from, all with differing germination time, here's a breakdown of some of our most popular:

• Basil and kitchen herb seeds will start to germinate in 5-7 days
• Lettuce and rocket seeds will start to germinate in 7-15 days
• Tomato seeds will start to germinate in 6-8 days
• Pine tree seeds will start to germinate in 10-14 days
• Wildflower seeds will start to germinate in 14-21 days

Just soak the seeds for 24 hours (to help them germinate) and then plant them in a pot or in your garden with the pen. The seeds will feed of the cornstarch and the whole pen will biodegrade. 

We recommend keeping these inside during the colder months (and until they have sprouted) of which they then can be moved outside and replanted. For best results, we recommend planting the pen outside rather than the pot.

Our paper products are slightly different to our pens and pencils, as the seeds are incorporated. To plant them, you simply, fill a plant pot with potting soil up to about 2/3 high and tear the paper up into pieces and drop them on top. Add about 3mm of soil on the top of the pieces of paper you have dropped in and tap down gently. Give it a good soak so it's nice and damp but not swimming and keep it moist for the first 10 days. Once sprouts appear, continue to keep the paper moist and once they grow bigger you can water as needed

Absolutely, you can plant all our seeds outside. However we recommend planting them in pots during the colder months and placing them by a window, as they require as much sunlight as possible. In the summer months, you can then move them outside. Some of our products, like tomatoes and strawberries, are better suited to a more controlled environment such as greenhouses in order to get the best results.
